Sketchbook
Sketchbook created with mat board, mosaic stones,
binder rings and leather string.
The Frame
The frame was constructed out of black construction paper. The reason why the fire extinguisher was framed is because it has elements of color, typography and shape. It was chosen because of the font size in the word “FIRE”. This shows the importance of the sign and the color was designed to generate attention visually when there is an emergency. The frame is contradicting the sign because it is a fun frame on an emergency sign.

Cultivating
Creativity
A toy racetrack made with cardboard, spray paint, and tape. It has the answer key phrases written on the road as well as obstacles along the turns. A supercar Lamborghini matchbox is added to symbolize a dream of the driver. The questions and answers are located in the sketchbook. The track was created to answer the questions in a unique creative way.

Line
– Take a dot for a walk
I was given one of
each basic shape. A circle, triangle, square, and one free form shape. A black
felt tip marker was used without lifting the marker to create the shape. This
technique was used to show how lines can be used to create shapes. And alternatively,
shapes can be used to create lines.
Line
– Types and times of lines
This image was created from watercolor paint, brushes, and feathers found in my front yard. Pencil was used to draw the car but the brushes, paint, and feathers were used to create the color, texture and movement of the vehicle

Shape - Shapes of those in your life
The butterfly shape
was used to symbolize a rigid person who has change dramatically (like a
caterpillar who transformed into a butterfly), but the sharp edges and abstract
colors are there to keep people away.
The heart with the puzzle piece is my
sister and best friend. She is my missing puzzle piece and as you turn the
heart you still see the puzzle piece. This symbolizes her son (my nephew) which
is why the puzzle piece is blue.
The wheel shape symbolizes me; a
person who is always on the go and heading in many directions. The color blue
is the color of my car.
1st E-Sketchbook

color blue and many textures stand out. These textures are shown in the clouds,
water, waves, and rocks. The angle in which the picture was taken helps emphasize
the movement of the water.

This Photo was taken in one of the Orange County Community College’s parking lots. The photo has various shapes. Shapes stand out in the wheels of the cars. Also, there is repetition in the vehicles all facing the same way.
Shape – The shape of things to come
The shape inside the shield symbolizes “present me”. It is a heart with an X through it. It symbolizes someone who is heartless and guarded and even beaten down from all the negativity faced on a daily basis. The shield around it symbolizes “future me”. The wings show how I will be flying through life. The color purple and crown symbolize royalty or me “living like a queen” which I hope to be doing in the future.
I collected various textures from home and Orange County Community College and created a self-portrait using those textures. The original textures and portrait can be found in my sketchbook. The finished images were darkened and manipulated using Adobe Photoshop CC.
Color
– What color is your memory
There are various colors I came across during my commute to Orange County Community College that I painted. I cut apart the painting to focus on each individual color separately and not as a whole. Many colors can be seen. As well as texture, shape, and typography.

Typography – College Flyer
The creative writer contest flyer was not so creative. Using Adobe Photoshop CC, I wanted to recreate the poster and make it stand out. I used a western theme, different fonts, font sizes and an image to bring it more attention.
